Exploring Oman through a Rental 4x4 car

Oman is well known for the tourist attractions it offers. A land that offers lush green Wadis, unending deserts, 1700 kms of serene coastline, and mountains clad with flora and fauna, all contribute in making Oman unique. The beauty and diversity of this land make it a fast growing popular tourist destination. Exploring this terrain in a two-wheel drive is no fun. The adventure of discovering the treasures of Oman is immensely enjoyable only in a four-wheel drive. So, discover Oman in a rental 4 X 4 car.

Being easternmost country of the Arabian Peninsula, Oman is a land full of varied topography. One of the biggest pay offs of holidays in such a place is the access to the amazing wildlife. Bird watching is an interesting option. Oman is home to a mix of African, Oriental and Palaearctic birds, with large numbers of seabirds as well. Almost 450 species of birds have been recorded here. It plays host to many foreign species, such as the Golden Oriole, Nightjar, Imperial Eagle, the Greater Spotted Eagle, and White Stork.  Habitats range from the steep mountains of Musandam in the north, deserts and vast shores with stands of mangroves, and extensive tidal mudflats and islands in the east to the afro-tropical forests and brackish lagoons of the southern, Dhofar province. Out of the animal species found here the Arabian leopard and the Arabian Oryx are endangered. Nature reserves have been set up throughout the Sultanate to protect the natural habitats of mammals such as the leopard, Oryx, gazelle, taher, ibex, desert foxes and wild cats. The endless coastline and warm waters are home to 22 species of whale and dolphin. The Green Turtle and Loggerhead species are attracted to Oman's shores and turtle breeding reserves are located at Ras al-Jinz and the Dimaaniyat Islands.

Oman has vast mountainous region for it to be called a haven for rock climbing and trekking. Also, the desert here varies from the rolling sand seas of classic photogenic dunes of rich gold, to the flat stony and the Rub al-Khali or 'Empty Quarter' in the south, where individual mountains of sand rise from a flat desert and stretch endlessly across the border into Saudi Arabia.

To truly explore all these wonders and bask in the joy of rediscovering beauty one must find the perfect option out of all 4X 4 car rentals in Oman as, a four-wheel drive could be the deciding factor between a good holiday and a great one.
